The Famous La Guaira Bank: Known as the "Grand Slam Capital Of The World", the La Guaira Bank produces some of the best Bill fishing anywhere in the world. Large numbers of Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Swordfish and the occasional Spearfish all congregate in these bait rich waters along with monster Yellowfin Tuna in excess of 200 lbs., fast and furious Wahoo, and some of the biggest Bull Dolphin you'll ever encounter. When your lines go in, you'll never know who will come calling as you can truly catch a "Grand Slam" anyday of the year. Prime Time for the Blues are Feb-May with the massive #'s of hungry whites showing up in the fall (Sept.-Nov.). On most trips we average 4-7 Billfish per day with several days in the double digits. Stand-up fishing is the norm with lighter conventional tackle such as penn 30's and shimano 25's along with some spinning outfits being employed. We always have a few 50's ready to go when a big "Slob" comes into the spread.

You'll Get Your $'s Worth: A typical fishing day starts around 8:15-8:30am. with a short 30-45 minute ride to the fishing grounds. Lunch and all your beverages are included each fishing day and our Captains and Mates will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Your fishing day usually ends after the "Afternoon" Bite (5-5:30pm) with a return back at the dock around 6-6:30pm.

Legendary Captain Luis Suarez has been fishing La Guaira all his life and is one of the top local Captains. He knows where the fish are and has the uncanny ability to see the marlin before they even enter the spread.
